Carlos Calderón (Cycle/Rec División) - ES

Hi!

I’m a sound engineer.I chose to carry this way of life twelve years ago when I decided to leave aside my economy studys. I have spent half of my life playing with bands. Recently I play guitar in a band called Cycle. I am interested in “recording arts” old school methods and in every piece of vintage gear that has more than thirty years of age. It’s like a kind of vice that I can’t control. I love to collect esoteric gear. I enjoy working with different style of bands and help them to achieve what they have in mind.

I am a founder member of Rec división Studios, Madrid. In these studios is where I mainly work but from time to time I go to others places to perform live recordings with Rec división’s mobile studio. One beauty truck composed of 32 Crane song and 16 presonus class-A pre amps and a Protools Hd and a Tascam hd as the recording systems.Last year we put up a record label to support spanish new bands and release records with the following criterias: Good music,good sound,no matter which style.In the last days, I’ve been very busy remixing tracks and recording the last LP records for bands like Gang Bang 66, Pull and Ellos. Now we are preparing Cycle’s second album that is scheduled to see the light these Autum, with our new vocalist, Matthias Freund (Codec&Flexor) and with the rest of my partners in the band, David and Silvia.
